Frequently Asked Questions

Before stepping through the door of the workshop...

Do you still have a few questions before getting started?

Find answers here to the questions we are most frequently asked about our illustrations, our projects, and the way we work.

Can I use my illustration for my professional or commercial activities?

Yes, certainly! 😊

However, an illustration intended for professional or commercial use requires a transfer of usage rights, which will be added to the quote.

This transfer specifies the conditions under which you may use the illustration: the media, duration, territory, and type of use.

The fee for these rights starts at €100 and varies depending on the intended use for your project.

The goal isn't to complicate things, but to protect both your project and our work. Everything is clearly defined before the project begins, so you know exactly what is included in your order.

Can you illustrate characters or worlds from well-known franchises?

As a general rule, no.

Characters, settings, and visual elements from well-known franchises, such as Pokémon, Disney, Game of Thrones, and others, are protected by copyright.

Therefore, we do not fulfill orders that reproduce these worlds without authorization from the rights holder.

The only exception applies to projects where you personally hold written authorization or the necessary rights to use the intellectual property.

However, if you simply love the atmosphere or setting of a particular work, we can certainly collaborate on an original illustration inspired by it, without using the specific characters or protected elements.

This often provides an opportunity to create something truly unique, designed specifically for your project.

Do you create only digital illustrations?

Yes! Right now, our graphics tablet is our best ally… (right after Sanji, of course!) 🐾

While we have huge admiration for artists who work with brushes, watercolors, or markers, digital illustration is our medium of choice these days.

It’s the tool that allows us to do our best work and create illustrations tailored to the specific needs of each project.

Going digital also gives us great freedom: files can be prepared in various formats and adapted for the web, print, or even games.

Every studio has its go-to tools. Ours is a graphics tablet… and a Corgi who keeps a watchful eye on the creative process.

How much does an illustration cost?

Every adventure is different, and so is the cost.

The price depends on the type of project, its complexity, its intended use, and where applicable the associated usage rights.

To give you a starting point, each section of the workshop website lists a base rate tailored to that specific type of project.

This allows you to get an idea of the budget before you even contact us.

And if your idea is off the beaten path, even better!

The best adventures often begin with a simple conversation. 😊

Can an order be paid for in installments?

Yes, in certain cases.

To reserve your slot at the studio and begin your project, a 30% deposit is required before work starts on any order.

Payment in installments applies to the remaining balance. If this amount exceeds €200, it can be split into two or three payments.

We will discuss this at the start of the project to find a payment schedule that suits your budget and the various stages of creation.

Every project is unique; if you need to pay in installments, please don't hesitate to let us know right from the start.

Do you offer free illustrations in exchange for visibility?

It depends…

Would your baker agree to be paid in “thanks” and the promise of advertising? No !

Well, for us it's kind of the same thing.

Illustration is our job. Each project requires time, creativity and a real investment.

And, between us, Sanji's food unfortunately cannot be paid for in visibility. 🐾

We therefore do not create free illustrations in exchange for advertising or promotion on social networks.

How does a project unfold?

Every project begins with a conversation.

We take the time to get to know your idea, your world, and the message you wish to convey.

From there, we work together to define the project requirements, the relevant media, and the necessary usage rights, before providing you with a tailored quote.

Once the project is approved and the deposit paid, the journey begins! We then proceed step by step, from initial research and early concepts to the final creation, maintaining a dialogue with you throughout the process.

Our goal is to ensure you are always kept up to date on the project's progress and that the final result truly matches what you had envisioned.

I don't know which portal corresponds to my project.

Don't worry! 😊

The portals are there to help guide you, but your project doesn't necessarily have to fit perfectly into just one category.

You can start by browsing the different themes and exploring the examples shown on their pages. This will often help you visualize the possibilities and see which creations might align with your idea.

And if you're still unsure, we can simply discuss it together. We’ll help you find the approach best suited to your project.

I have an idea, but I don't know exactly what I need yet. Can I still contact you?

Yes, of course.

You are welcome to contact us even if your idea isn't fully defined yet. A conversation helps clarify your needs, lay the groundwork for the project, and explore the best direction together.

You can choose the method that suits you best: schedule a 30-minute chat or simply send us an email.

You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out to the Atelier. Sometimes, all it takes is an initial idea to start the journey.

Are there any projects you don't accept?

Yes, some projects do not align with our working style.

We do not create erotic or sexually explicit illustrations, nor do we produce realistic portraits.

We also avoid highly futuristic themes, such as cyberpunk, as they fall outside our area of expertise.

Finally, we cannot accept projects with overly tight deadlines.

Creating an illustration takes time; to ensure high-quality work, we require a minimum turnaround time of 2 to 3 weeks following the signing of the order.

However, this timeframe may vary depending on the size and complexity of the project.

One less question,

one more adventure.

You now have all the keys to push open the door of the Workshop.

If you wish to discover our different worlds, explore the Workshop’s portals and find the one that best suits your project.

How to contact us?

Because life is too short to keep your ideas under wraps.

Don't hesitate to contact us!

Sometimes, all it takes is a well-conceived collaboration to turn an idea into a visual that stands out from the crowd.
