Last time, I told you we'd be talking about dachshunds owned by famous people.

Well… hold on to your leashes.

Because clearly, dachshunds have always known how to surround themselves with the right people.

As these four celebrities show!

Picasso shared his life with a dachshund named Lump.

And when I say “share,” I don’t just mean sleeping on the couch.

Lump was a true muse: he appears in several of Picasso’s works, notably his famous variations on Las Meninas.

A dog who became an icon of modern art, nothing less.

👉 Clearly, Lump is one of the most famous dachshunds in art history. Not bad for a short-legged dog.

The “Pope of Pop Art” had two dachshunds: Archie and Amos.
But Archie had a special status.

He accompanied Warhol everywhere: to the studio, on outings, and in his public life.

A true artistic assistant… without a business card.

Let’s go back to the 19th century. Because before Corgis joined the royal family, Dachshunds were the ones in the spotlight!

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert owned several dachshunds, including Deckel and Waldman VI.
At the time, the breed was popular in Germany, Prince Albert’s homeland.

👉 Their fondness for dachshunds played a major role in popularizing the breed in the United Kingdom.

It just goes to show: when royalty adopts a trend… everyone follows suit.

He was the 22nd and 24th president of the United States (yes, twice).

Grover Cleveland owned several dachshunds at the White House, often three at a time.

They had been given to him by an American consul in Germany, at a time when the breed was still rare in the United States.

👉 He was one of the first U.S. presidents known to have owned dachshunds.

A forward-thinking choice, to say the least.
